Does anybody have any Windows Live Messenger invitations as i really want one but dont want to pay the ?25 that most are going for on eBay.

Are this invitations working like GMail invites?

yeah, basically the same way, but microsoft are being tight-arses on how many invites get sent around (oh, what a surprise)

So MS copies again.... Just wrecking it in the process.

Well, Google was better. They actually got it right (there's lots of explainations of this that I can't be bothered to write right now).

Microsoft have totally trashed this version.

Lets see how....
1) More bugs than in public loos in the middle of Gloucester, and i'm not kidding... i had problems clicking on peoples contact cards some times
2) Group conversations, not allowed, crash!
3) New UI, well, new ui2 is rubbish
they've changed the look from nice 'beta 1' to something that looks like MSN messenger 7, or even slightly WM looking...

GR, did I forget any problems

1) Yeah. Sometimes mine crashes whenever some starts a convo with me, most often with group convos (i.e. point 2).

3) The new UI is essentiall MSM M 7 reskinned with pasten (reed "poofy") colours with a couple of extra buttons (sharing folders) and loads of the cool stuff gone. This includes the mouse over expand contact info (including showing the pic and giving some option buttons) and the two style icons (bold green for "online", light green for other, and separation). Plus, I actually liked the bold style and irregular shape of UI1. I might try reinstalling it...

Well, that's M$ for you. Start with something good, then trash it before release.

Microsoft are too expensive :( I've not tried Msgr Live but perhaps I should before posting... Sounds like it's riddled with bugs/trashiness though, so I'll wait for the official.

You can't try it, you need an invite to allow it to work with your email address.

Hmm, well, sucks if I even tried.

Im also annoyed, my dad got an invite for WLM, then as soon as he signed up, he had invites! I might log into his account and send them to people

That, and now on http://ideas.live.com you can now sign up on a waiting list for invites, the wait is only about 2-3 days when my dad signed up

Really, damn, that sucks!
