Hehe, but it doesn't reduce the frame rate. It always runs smotthly in the games I play at that res. Even Lost Coast does! If it struggles, I drop something down, but that's usually CPU limited (I have a sucky CPU, hopefully not for long though...).

I go for the best performance possible. High resolutions mean nothing to me other than reduced performance.

Image quality generally has never meant much to me, as long as I can get the most frames out of my game without sacrificing many/any visual elements minus resolution, I'm fine with it :) Battlefield 2 runs smooth in 1280x1024, and I get the same performance as I get from a 640x480 res. Tahts teh cool!

LOL, well I get the same noticable performance at super high-res, so yeah. Some games I do have to knock it down a tad, sometimes because I do loose performance or sometimes becuase the game is bugged (not hardware fault - not artifacts, just a game that's really badly coded).

Hmm, yes, Battlefield 2 is also badly coded. But works good in higher res. It has horrible memory leaks though, and the physics system is .... an embarrassment.

Yeah, though I wsn't really talking about BF2 in my last post. There are games that crash in the menu if you try to put them at high res.
As for BF2 being rubbish. Pretty much. Nice idea, badly done. Everything seemed rushed.

One good thing about the game is that it runs smooth on most systems. Even on Nvidia cards!

Yeah, it runs smooth even on ATI. Unfotunately, the lower boundry spec is a bit high for quite a lot of people.
