I just benchmarked my family PC, and got a score of 2170.

Sucks.

Anybody think I can break the 3DMark06 record with my new machine?

I seriously doubt it;

Read the specs. It's basically what you're going to build (less RAM, but better stuff, though) with an insane overclock on everything. I'm guessing some serious phase change cooling, possibly even liquid nitrogen just for the bench.

Haha, yes that is completely insane. I was just dreaming.

Edit: Doesn't look like they're using better stuff to me, looks like my stuff is better.

The RAM - "Rams = Cellshocks PC9200 (the RED ones) at 1:1" - PC9200 is insane, the FSB on those is huge. They needed it for the high overclock to keep the synchronous memory, and therefore the tight timings.

Nothing too major :P
PC9200 is pretty cheap. *modifies his spec for +£50*

Anyway, any 3DMark06 results from you guys?

It's worthless unless you overclock. He used it because it allowed for his insane overclock. The difference the PC number makes is a higher tested FSB speed, and to get the best results, you want a synchronous CPU and RAM FSB, meaning that to overclock, you need more RAM headroom. running asynchronous affect performance. Plus, that kind of clock on RAM is also an improvement.

Also, I haven't run 3DMark yet, will do soon.
