Hmm, should I try the FC6 beta at whatever stage it is at, or should I stick to FC5 (considering I need to add ndiswrapper to its kernel)

I'd say to stick with FC5 and spend more time using the computer rather than fiddling about with it. FC6 is not for the feint-hearted, those Linux Beta's are unlimitedly less forgiving than Windows Beta's... though less critisised. :P
