I am attempting to return my soundcard to Ebuyer. I have never done this before.

Their returns policies appear to be here:

http://static.ebuyer.com/customer/help/ ... 9ybWFfZmFx

However, the crackling issue appears to affect only a minority of users (although it is a big enough issue to be on wikipedia). What if the issue does not happen with them? In addition, I only noticed the crackling in TF2 when there were many players.

The sound lag was there all the time however.

Finally, I do not want this thing returned, I just want a refund.

Has anyone else ever done this before? I would appreciate help.

In order to get a refudn you must return the card.

I had a similar experience with Amazon with a present for my mum that arrived smashed. Put it back in the exact same box they sent you, and then go onto their website and they should give you information on how to return an item. They will then probably provide you with a link to a delivery firm with a code to tell them you want something something picked up and taken back.

You can then arrange a time for them to come and collect said item. If you do not get any correspondance in the next week or two, contact them again with all of your reference numbers etc to make sure they sort it out/refund you/send another etc.

Sounds like user error, refersh drivers ect. In tf2 make sure you don't have the voice bit selected to max output as that causes the issue your having with alot of people.

How long has it been since you ordered it? You will not get a refund after 28 days most likely.

Also ebuyer are very good with returns so don't worry.

21 days. And I tried lots of drivers, from the disk, from their site, their beta drivers, and some community (unofficial) ones.

The voice max output thing? If you mean when the receive volume is too high, the sound only distorts with that problem when someone talks to you.

In addition, the crackling I get with this is quite different from what I have heard from microphone distortion.

Ebuyer have an excellent returns system. 9 times out of 10 they take it as you are right in it being wrong and dont test.

The refund process wants a serial number...I am not sure quite what it means by this.

It's an alphanumerical number usually found on a sticker on the item or maybe on the box.
