I'm seriously looking forward to the Athlon FX-62. I believe it will not just be a simple .2GHz step-up, but will include other various improvements. Obviously the DDR2 plays a big role, but I'm sure that there are some other fundamental differences that will boost performance even further.

Naa, they're still bent on their intuitive bottlenecking technology. They should market that... The new Intel? Core Duo? Processor??, with Bottlenecking?? Technology??. How does it sound?

The main problem is that their local memory isn't built in, and the 2 cores access a shared L2 cache, but this leads to bottlenecking. See the 3 arrows at the top left of the core architecture diagram on the Anandtech article to see what I mean.

Since i started reading and listening to yu lot talk alot! I leanr most of what i know from tht! lol!

So, a pentium leans harder on RAM than an AMD ones? So therefore, an AMD always has atleast a little bit more computing power because the chip has self memory.

Intel are trying to overcome this by using tonnes of L2 cache (up to 4MB per chip) because their architecture is flawed in this way. By using the L2 cache it doesn't have to grab stuff from memory across the motherboard and slow it down. Like the article said, even if it has to access memory 4% of the time, this means a big dent in the performance.

As soon as Intel and AMD go quad core, I'd expect to see AMD on top again because of the superior architecture.

Though, like the article said, AMD may even improve upon the K8 architecture by adding more registers, more memory, more logic etc.

I'll put my money with AMD for now.
