Nah, they would both occur normally. We're travelling at thousands of meters per second through space but sound still travels at the same speed in every direction on earth. In a sealed space vehicle travelling at the speed of light, all the stuff inside is travelling at the speed of light aswell, meaning that, relatively, everything in the ship isn't moving at all. This means that everything inside the ship would behave normally. This means you hear it then smell it, as sound travels faster than smell permeates.

Of course, at the speed of sound, everything goes completely screwy so random stuff would happen.

Well the idea of these questions is tht they dont have 2 follow theories. It can also be impossible circumstances otherwise it wudnt be an impossible question.

3x10^8 ms-1 is the speed in a Vacuum (or around 186,000 miles per second)
its slowed down by pretty much everything with mass e.g water or air.
if i remember right its been slowed down too the speed of a car 40mph ish. basically by shooting a laser thorough super cold sodium atoms but i'll have to check that.

getting a car to light speed isn't as easy.
part of Einstein's theory of relativity suggests that the closer an object gets to 'C' (vacuum constant) the more energy it takes to reach that speed. C being the point where the energy requirement is infinite.
accelerating to C would require either infinite time with finite acceleration or infinite acceleration with finite time.
by that logic going faster than light would require more than infinite energy o.O

Goderer is right, though there are ways of travelling faster than light theoretically, but they involve time travel, folding space or quantum entanglement (this one is quite strange), non of which we can actually do.

What's really strange, though, is that the speed of light (not the constant, but actual light moving) is relative to the observer, even if that observer is moving at close to c.

Slowing light down is easy, as he said, though I don't know how slow, I'll take Goderer's word for it (unfortunately we didn't do much relativity at school and I haven't been bothered to read up on it, lol).
