We have noticed a huge lack in usage of the CSS Public Fun Server. We would like to know, if we were to shut it down, what alternative would you want in it's place. As a community we need to know what we mainly want and if it's in our power we will do so.

I would use it if it was at all active, but don't play much CSS anyway.

GMod and L4D would be good. Some sort of simple game switcher for admins/mods would be useful.

I havent been playing on css really.. Plus that server is mostly boring because it doesn't fit my usual play style..

Very much annoys me..

But anyway ive been on EQ2 more than anything else and it will probably stay that way for quite some time.

i use it, but could i suggest the reason its not really filled?

we've had this argument with office already, but lots of people who are active in css dont like playing it. at the moment the default map is office, when nobody is on the server it goes back to office. this means people rarely join.

btw, i only play 2 pub servers - NiF. but only on very few maps and the rest i play on our pub server, so if i could have the ability to change the map (rather than only being able to setup a random map vote which often leads worse results) or a custom vote for maps, that would be appreciated here.

we have enough people to fill it regularly, but it must also be considered that the majority of the clan play tf2, those that done and play css tend to play wars only (atm i only play wars and rarely play pub for too long).

as a majority sharholder (lol in the donations ) i say we keep it a little longer, try do some work on it (unrestrict awp to 1 etc) that would encourage more people to come on. i really do believe that we could have a great server, just needs a push in the right direction.

My vote has gone to those two also, as well as HL2:DM. I feel an urge for zero-point physics death, however we probably wouldn't want it online 24/7, merely for when people just want to have a quick hack at it.

i think we setup a night where we all get on as a clan, socialise and have some fun. just like tf2 on wednesdays.

how about monday nights or something?

just played a good session on pub server with some peeps, was good fun.

we def need to arrange a night to play together, there is too big a gap between people "who wont play that noob game css" and only play tf2 and vice versa.

even if u suck at the game, come along, its nothing serious, just a socialise on a different game and having fun with the rest of the clan and clan friends.

in fact, i can arrange this if anyone wants?

Apart from the fact CSS isnt fun at all for some of us? Dying quickely and then having to wait for the round to end is totally horrificly boring.

I'm gonna lean with Skillers and Metty on this one me thinks....

dying doesnt matter, this is about playing a game together. just like when playing tf2 together it doesnt matter if u lose right away.

Yeah... but you respawn in TF2... Which instaly makes it more fun to play...

hmm maybe, but i wasnt thinking just like the whole session playing rounds so those who r better always live etc.

i wanna maybe do some knife rounds, some hellfire rounds, etc. to make it more fun.

i really do think this clan needs this socialising thing on 2 games cos atm not everyone knows each other and therefore dislike each other over the games that they play. if we have fun together, and start to get to know each other, there wouldnt be so much tension.

i like everyone in this clan and i like playing tf2, css, mario kart (i thought tourney was being arranged!?!) etc. but not everyone does! so we need to try and rebuild some bridges, and make this a proper clan again.

Yeah, we need to work on the CSS server, or change it, hence the poll.

Personally, I'd love to see the CSS server active again.

We will be changing it for L4D when that comes out, though, but not permanently. Or we may try running L4D as a 3rd.

try running as a third, possibly replace temporarilly. it looks as tho many people will be playing it!

My vote goes for gmod

We've actually got a GMod server in the works. It's harder to do, though, as it needs emulation to run, and we're not sure it will work.

[CSS] I think the only reason i dont use the public server as much is because theres never anyone on it i tend to follow people onto servers, so if theres noone on it i dont usually go on it which is bad of me.
as i said in another thread 2 css nights sound cool, and i agree with u markus on how we need to socialise more as a clan
we could try make it DM or RPG for a change see what people think to that, as i know from the servers ive been going on they are very popular.

Heh, the synergy server has been pretty successful. I'm thinking we should have that as a permanent 3rd server, maybe public.
