I bought mario kart DS yesterday, and im thouroughly enjoying myself playing it.

Essentially another Mario Kart game, it has 16 new courses, and 16 throw back from the other Mario Kart games. The Nitro Cup (the new tracks) is difficult, but its very easy on 50CC mode. I have completed all 32 tracks on 50CC mode (Nitro and Retro) and already unlocked 2 characters.

I am most enjoying the Retro cups, because 2 of the four tracks ive been to before. one track fomr the SNES game, N64, Advance and Double Dash (GC) have been compiled into each cup. 16 tracks return in total. Some are good (Baby Park from GC) and some are bad (Luigi Circuit from GBA). But all are fun.

2 New items join the ranks, and some return. Bonzai Bill and the Blooper. Both are interesting items. Bonzai Bill basically turns you into an automated missile, and goes where the track says, and the Blooper puts ink on the view screens of the poeple ahead (this is very annoying when in first) and limits your vision considerably. Boo's make a return after vanishing for Double Dash, and every race is full of new surprises.

The bottom screen is used for different maps and navigation, as well as telling everyone elses currwent position and items. Eagle eyed poeple may be able to spot Leader Shells being launched and take the appropriate action. The lowe rmap has other uses aswell. It can enable you to move out mof the way of Green Shells (random bouncers) and tell you when a Red Shell (homing) is coming towards you. This helps with holding the lead, but wwith all mario Kart games, that can never be assured untill youve crossed the line....

Unfortunatley not. I was hoping they would have some of the bonus items from Double Dash, but only the Super Mushroom (Toad and Toadette's special item) made it in...

Laughing They really do pwn! They have the best music ever!

Looking at it now, Wario and Waluigi's special item also got in, the Bom-Omb. Basically a big explosion.

A few characters have also been dropped (like Diddy Kong, Petey Piranha, Baby Bowser, Toadette ETC.) and this almost takes form the game.

However, if the WII has a Mario kart title (and currently there isnt a Nintendo platform without one) it should have all the characters form all the games on. Maybe even involving different types of vehicle, like on Diddy Kong Racing for the N64. Had Cars, but also had Hover crafts and Planes.

It would make the racing even more interesting......

Nope. The second Mario Kart was on the SNES.

Oh bugger

Grr. Y the NES didnt have one i will never know. SNES did though. Laughing

I have now unlocked the third bonus kart for all the characters! Toads is like a huge 4 Wheel drive buggy thing! So cool! And Wario has a tractor, Waluigi a JCB! Laughing

Hmm, some interesting vehicles there. I like the fact that you give the F1 style cars a real world analogy Rolling Eyes .

Yeah, but it just proves how much you know, which is quite scary!

Yeah, you beat him, and I was beating you a bit aswell!
Yeah, wifi is cool.

Oh, and for those who wanted to know, snaking is where you use the drift boosts constantly to gain huge speed, but the action dives you a snake like motion, thus the name.
