Just generated a world on my private server at work, it's awesome! Couple of floating islands close to spawn, some mountains, little bit of land poking out of an oasis. Real cool. Seed is 347139907. It's the first world we've not been tempted to blow the crap out of!

The name endermen was suggested on Reddit as a reference to slenderman.

It's a seriously awesome map. If we ever change maps again we should definitely use seed 347139907

You can generate Identical maps if you know the world seed? O_o

That's cool :D My first world was pretty good...

That's the whole point of seeds ><

Try the seed "gargamel" (no quotes).

[NOTE: The game converts text into a number for the purposes of seeds]

Same seed?

Also, is that a server? I see 2 people on the map.

Yeah, same seed. It's my server at work, it's just me and Steve on there. I don't play SP.

I hate your skin Aaron, looks so tacky :(

That other person might be spawn or something? Btw, how would you use this map creation thing for MC< I'd like to see my first map :)

The skin looks nasty on this PC because I'm running everything in super low detail apart from the render distance. It's actually a very awesome, simple, tidy looking skin :)

Just put the seed in to your server.properties file on the line that says level-seed=

The above seed is actually "lololol".. lol

The one he's using is called Tectonicus. I've used Cartograph G before, which is pretty good (and probably a bit simpler than Tectonicus).

Post subject:  Re: The new Minecraft thread

I used a nice little program called TectonicusGUI_v0.3. It's really handy for creating one-off Tectonicus renders. I remember when we used Cartograph for the Techious server, it was about 1 pixel per block and so the image was tiny. Maybe it's changed, but that was what put me off Cartograph. I like that I can zoom in very, very close in Tectonicus.

If you want to check out that texture pack I was using, check this out :) http://www.minecraftforum.net/topic/434 ... 99%94-16x/

It looks awesome but would be so much better suited on the Techious server :)

So have you changed the server map yet?
Me and my friends moved to our own server and you are welcome to come and see what we have built.
