I'm doing some reading through this EA thread... so it seems that possibly what I can describe as "when Aaron got <LOOK MA, I AM SWEARING> in the ass by preordering Crysis" might happen again, which if true will make things worse. (EDIT: Then again... buying from Origin doesn't qualify for all the exclusive content)

This "exclusive content", DICE better have this pretty much made pointless otherwise something is really <LOOK MA, I AM SWEARING> up. DLC ok, but limited time game changing content, NO. Hell... its making TF2 weapon exclusives look reasonable, at least you can craft them...

So... is this game worth the couple of hundred pounds it will cost me... starting to not look it.

I'm inclined to believe that guy on Reddit - it definitely strikes me as a marketing move and not something that DICE would do themselves (they want people to play the game). There's a lot of people emailing EA and stuff, so hopefully it will change.

If it changes, I'll buy it. If enough people talk to EA etc, they may change their decision (then again they may not because people will still buy the game regardless of how frankly ridiculous it is).

This is the key point I feel. It's actually <LOOK MA, I AM SWEARING> ridiculous releasing a game with game changing content available to some and not for others. If it were skins or whatever - that's fine. Because it doesn't affect the game in anyway. Having additional guns is inevitably going to change the game, regardless of what they claim is "balanced" (yeh, cos you can really know how a game will play out when 1000s of people havent tested it yet).

People who still preorder this game are idiots - and nothing less. This constant oh, I'm not happy about this but I'm still going to buy it. What the actual <LOOK MA, I AM SWEARING> people. You're the reason DRM is now used on every game. And you're the reason that in making bf3 this exclusive content bullshit will happen on every game.

You will no doubt enjoy the server issues, friends that doesn't work properly that plagues every BF game on release.

I know that EA make terrible decisions, and I hated parts of Battlefield 2. However, I also had the most fun playing Battlefield 2 compared to any other shooter. It's really only because of that reason that I want to play Battlefield 3.

Yeh, like I said you're entitled to . I'm still really tempted to buy it anyway. It's a shame they've done this because at e3 it looks like it will be an epic game.
