not that anybody actually cares but i'm gonna post it anyhow because i'm bored!

here is the official E3 trailer that for whatever reason I've only just found.

Watch this video on Youtube.

some of my concerns have been addressed. such as why would a super human cyborg pirate ninja need to sneak around? well you don't.
where the focus of the previous games was stealth and tactics, the focus of this instalment is erm... swiftly cutting people into tiny pieces with your new sword. which is sure to satisfy my inner serial killer i suppose :S

I'm quite impressed that they managed to get such an obvious improvement in terms of game engine and graphics to work on the primitive bronze age'd 360 but whatever..
thoughts?

Some 360 games look fantastic, as do some Wii games... So that's a moot point.

Are we playing as Raiden this time around? I don't recognise that as Snake. Also, wtf :| Kinda goes against the whole aspect of MGS being a sneak-a-thon. I like having to be sneaky and not always having to blast my way through every section :/

apparently the game will still be stealth based. its described as 'hunting stealth' rather than 'waiting stealth'
you do play as Raiden and the game is set between sons of liberty and guns of the patriots.

the 360 comment needs an explanation sorry.
MGS4 was, according to konami, impossible to play on the 360. the game barely fits on a duel layer blueray which has ~5.7x the storage of a duel layer dvd. so even if the 360's hardware was up to scratch, you would have needed 6disks to play it.
the newest MGS (rising) seems to have been improved technically and miraculously it works on 360 just fine.

Wasn't the reason that it took up so much space because they insisted on using stuff uncompressed, which is just stupid? They've probably just realised "oh wait, the hardware on these things aren't enough to make uncompressed actually make a difference, if we get rid of that we can sell it on more platforms and make more money".

Also, seems fairly interesting, hunting stealth could be quite good, though it's unlikely I'll every play it.

yes actually. I think there was almost 40gb of uncompressed audio..
compressed audio isn't really any different tbh not to the human ear, especially when you consider the vast majority of people playing MGS4 wont have been using £10k sound systems.
it was obviously just bs propaganda to promote the ps3 and the mighty bluray.

kojima will not be as involved in this game nearly as much as he was with others. so things to expect are; a less complicated story and some gameplay :)
