Anybody else super excited about the return to 2D Sonic?

Watching this makes me feel like I am 5 years old again... I really want to play!

Yep, I'm excited about it. It's 2D, so Sega can hardly f*ck it up like they do with almost every single 3D game they've done with him (yes, I'm looking at you Sonic 06!) although having said that, they did contain some good things (Sonic Unleashed day time stages are SO MUCH FUN, WHY WASN'T IT JUST THAT AND NOTHING ELSE?!).

There's also another game called Sonic Colours coming out for the Wii too, but that'll probably be rubbish too as I've come to expect of Sonic Team and their laziness when it comes to Sonic games.

Sonic Adventure and Sonic Adventure 2 were cool, but everything after has been pretty poor

Indeed, Sonic Adventure was pretty much the best 3D Sonic game. Sonic Adventure 2 was good, but it wasn't as good as Sonic Adventure. The rest afterwards was just a spiral of failure

Sonic 06 would have been awesome had they just taken another year and turned it into Sonic 07. It had a good story, it had gorgeous graphics (like a Pixar animation), and the music was really fitting. The gameplay as always let it down because they rushed it.

Reminds me of a demo I once played.

Having played a lot of this game, I can honestly say it's fantastic, if a little short. The special stages from Sonic 1 make a gorgeous return. Super Sonic also returns with a really cool transformation. The gameplay is really good except that you can stop in mid-air if you don't hold down right which caused issues until I learned to control it properly on platforming elements of the Casino zone.

My expectations for Episode 2 are now a lot higher than my expectations for Episode 1 originally were.

Ooh, I didn't even know it had been released.

I bought this for my bro and played it on NYE. It was fun.
