So yeah I started a Warhammer Online trial account last night just for the luls.

I had no idea how similar it was going to be to my favourite game of all time World of Warcraft.

OK, they are not visually similar, but almost everything else is. The interface, the controls, the questing. I thought I was playing WoW at one point and just immediately hit Alt+F4.

Having said that I think it might be fun if somebody else downloaded the trial to play with me. I have no idea what the hell a public quest is or how I start it so maybe someone can enlighten me. The quest journal just tells me to start the public quest by starting the public quest, which is not helpful.

It says the trial is endless so I am wondering what the catch is. I'll download it though.

Indeed I think that because the trial is unlimited we could have some fun testing out different races a classes and learning new things together. I think I am on the Iron something server, on the evil side, got a toon called Misiri.

I've got the trial installed and I created an account on the website, but I'll probably not load it up until you're available. Then we can perhaps try it out this evening?

It is, I was reading about it in the FAQ. Tier 1 characters only, unable to send mail etc.

I heard it was limited level 10 or something of the sort. The mail limit is to stop spammers

Yeah, as soon as you start a new character it tells you that you can play the game up to rank 10, but that's it... There's a big long list of tick boxes underneath "full member" and a tiny list (one or two ticks) underneath "trial member".

Played it for a couple of months, really liked it.

The public quests are, just that, public. The instructions will come onto the screen, somehting like "Pub quest: kill XX things" then those things get harder and fewer until something cool happens (cut-scenes) and you fight the big bad boss. You aren't required to start it other then following the instructions (maybe spamming chat for pq starting).

There are then battleground type things quite fun.

That would be cool if it gave instructions but unfortunately it doesn't. It highlights an area on my map where I can start the public quest - but nothing is happening in that area, there is no person available to advance the quest, and no creatures to kill. The journal just says to start the quest, but not how.
