Ok after a 3 hour battle with directX 9 apparently not present despite havign directX 10, i got the game to work

.
and as some reviewers said it is fairly simple.
Give yoru self a class gender portrait, set your game length and difficulty and off you go.
you start with yoru town hall and shoudl get a farmer or food guy or women to make you some food. meanwhile go off and kill stuff around your starting village.
As you progress you'll find slightly better drops etc to help you with village stuff or your own armanent. However alot of this loot is best saved for a later time and then your inventory really piles up

. Unloading to your town isn't great either cause it's the same size as your inventory. In other words get ready to possible lose some stash. Failing that go through th elong ordeal of getting a merchant. Upgrade your manor, Get a hostel then upgrade to an inn, then hire a merchant. WOO now to sell and reap in the gold. Old daggers: 1 gold, old armour: 1 gold, shiney rare longbow i'm not gonna use: 1 gold. HEY! wait a minute o.0. Sadly the merchant cons you out of every possible gold coin you could have forthe item. Everything = 1 Gold. If he didn't make 15 gold a day or so anyway i'd of kicked him out of town there and then.
Any how to get various professions you have to upgrade, a smith can become a flecther or a metal worker, or a herbalist becomes an alchemist then (if you have a magical tome) a wizard.
Sometimes it easier to buy a higher level farmer just to get a higher level party member. I quckly traded my level 3 guard for a level 5 farmer just hired, switch of the equpiment and the farmer could take down a troll on his own. Sadly classes mean little besides your own starting one.
however it is fun i find watching your little person develop dun his/her aquired armour and march off to fight a band of orcs. Return home and upgradethe city with they new found wealth.
I have yet to get a dragon sadly so no news there.
I was a little disspoited by the high priest as it was identical to the light priest bar the name

.
Quests are very empty and shallow and only appear randomly in the form of your king. He requests food or gold and if you do it or not you gain fame or lose fame. Fame is needed for some of the more powerful professions to join your town.
I completed a short game on easy in abotu 2 hurs, but i was messing about at the end waiting for better items from my smiths. I've tried completing a medium length game on easy but my computer has gone buggy again so i have a few more areas to go.
The object of the game is to vanquish all the area in the map by killing everything whilst not going hungry with no food, losing all your fame so no one joins your village, or on hardcoe mode, by not dyng once.
Still for ten pounds or there about after the annoying features are over with i really enjoy the game. Graphics are pretty decent on full for this small game (since its not a major game production etc) not for die hard RPG fans there is a lack of that here bar your character, but thats still very simple. but if you want a light RPG game with some city building in it, a couple of loot drops and random map everytime it's not bad for its price.
