Wiiware is a service availbae via the wii shop channel (not jsut yet tho) that allows small developers to create games for the wii and sell them on the shop channel or biggere developers to create small games that neednt take up space ona disk.
Nintendo announced a while back a new Pokémon title coming to the service called Pokémon Farm, which has you transfer your monsters from Diamond and Pearl and snuggle them up in your own critter barn.
Image
It has very different never seen before graphical style with the pokemon taking polygonal shapes.

Trying its very best to make us sick of the very name Final Fantasy, Square Enix announced another new instalment - though this time heading to the Wii download service.

The amply named Final Fantasy: Crystal Chronicles: The Small King and the Promised Country will be out in Japan in March and sounds like a bit of a spin-off of the traditional co-op Chronicles series

looks ptretty nice imo the games will have you create a town from the bottom up with u as its king you can expand your kingdom by collecting taxes or even hiring people to go on quests for you

also on wiiware is Dr Mario
Image
it will have you joining up bacteria so they disapear.
Other titles announced include the likes of Tetris and Bomberman.

Interesting. It will be interesting to see what small developers come up with for the Wii. I believe the versatility of the WiiMote should produce some very interesting results.

Hmm, don't recognise many games there, except World of Goo, which looks fun.

I have no idea what you could make, but if you think of an interesting way to use the WiiMote, that would be awesome, lol.

Yeah, you can transfer... I think its upto 500 Pokemon onto it if you wanted... For no reason at all other than as an extra 500 pokemon storage i presume... Id get it purely to see what Dialga/Mewtwo/Deoxys look like XD

After months of anticipation WiiWare has launched in the UK. Yes, it's another big day in Nintendo's history as Wii owners are now able to download new games for their console. So what's available on day one?

Nintendo confirmed a list of launch window games last week but said not all of them would be available on day one. Well, from today, you can download Dr Mario & Germ Buster, Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles: My Life As A King, TV Show King, LostWinds, Tori Toki and Star Soldier R.

Advertisement:
Dr Mario And Germ Buster is the only game from Nintendo in the launch line-up. Dr Mario, the classic Tetris-style pill-matching puzzler, has been revamped for WiiWare and includes an online multiplayer mode. Germ Buster is based on the relaxation game in More Brain Training from Dr Kawashima and it sees up to four players using their Wii Remotes to grab, spin and slot capsules as their Miis try to keep the nasty bugs at bay.

Final Fantasy: Crystal Chronicles: My Life As A King is like Final Fantasy Sim City as you play as a young King who, with the help of loyal servants and audacious adventurers, rebuilds a once powerful kingdom which has long been deserted.

LostWinds is one of the most anticipated launch games. This platformer sees you playing as a young boy named Toku and a wind spirit named Enril. You have to use Enril's elemental powers to guide Toku through the levels and help him release the curse placed upon the world of Mistralis and its people by evil Balasar.

TV Show King is a multiplayer general knowledge quiz that's presented in the style of an 80s television trivia show. Playing as your Mii, you can answer up to 3,000 questions on subjects including music, cinema, entertainment, history, geography, sports, common knowledge, fun and pop culture.

Hudson's shoot 'em up series makes a return to Wii with Star Soldier R. This latest effort is all about the high scores as you blast down enemies within a two or five minute time limit before uploading your best scores to a world table with Wi-Fi Connection.

Finally there's Toki Tori, an egg collecting puzzling platform game. You'll have to use a combination of items such as the Telewarp, InstantRock and Slug Sucker to solve more than 70 puzzles.

Oooh, finally, a DS demo channel (well I guess that's what the downloads will be, lol). I hope they make Wii demos available too, though it probably doesn't have enough storage for that.

Yeah it does do ds downloads demo and patches :s i looked on wiki :P I wont do wii demos cus the wii will have to save it, with ds demos the wii doesnt need to store anything an just act like a ds download station. Its also going to show commercial for games and review and stuff so extra promotion lol

Well it will need to store it temporarily for DS games, and if you want to play it more than once (seeing as the DS will loose the data when turned off), as the DS download stations work like single cart play (and are in fact, just regular DSes with special game carts).

its demo the entire point is your not suppose to store it so the wii wont store, it will just act as a download station from which the information can be like transmitted through or sent your ds can store it temporaily and will lose it when you turn it off. Well actually it wont store it at all it will jsut run it. you download the demo you will have to go on it immediatly and you cant return to menu without turning it off. I like the idea i just hope we dont have to pay for demos
