Adventure Mode: The Subspace Emissary
Not much is currently known about Adventure mode...However the pictures and information we have place a huge amount of the story onto Metaknights shoulders...His ship, the Halberd is seen dropping off what looks like the new wire frame characters (The Primid) after Mario and Kirby agree not to fight.

So it seems characters may be settling old scores and setting some of their personal stories straight. But how this links to Metaknight we do not know. Since then we have had a few videos showing how Pit and Donkey Kong get drawn into the Story. Petey Pirahna has also been confirmed as a Boss...But we still do not really know whether there will be more bosses and how the teamwork plays out...More info from Fox crashing in the Jungle with DK finding him, and then a Rayquaza appearing and Fox defeats it easily...We think O.o

There are already many arenas and items we have been told about, with "Assist Trophies" being the most exciting prospect, utilizing side characters fom many different games.

Use this thread for discussion and I'll update this post with more news when it is released :D

I cant wait for this game! LOL i love how you describe samuses final smash "Huge Laser" and the developers have stated that kirbys final smash is the cooking in the pot. and what you said about peaches final smash being MSC realated i dont think so as SSBB is being made by Hal Labs. and MSC created by Next Level Games. Im thinking something along the lines of an army of toads?? Snake hasnt got a profile page up yet because hes is a 3rd party character and that is a new element to the series. Ninty have said that there will be more 3rd party characters available (at least 3) hopefully one being Sonic (fingers crossed). People dont want sonic in SSBB because they dont see how he would work, but tbh if they have put a Pokemon trainer in who doesnt directly fight i think they could make him fit (Super Sonic as Final smash anyone??) Recently the Sub space emisary was confirmed i think/hope this isnt the only 1 player option as Melee had 3 main ones. The target test and others have to be brought back also. Tho what they will use in place for wire frames we are not sure tho those purple sandbags things looks like they could. The most exciting feature this game should and hopefully will make use of is the Wi-Fi ability. This game would ROCK! with online play (your going down SB :P) I would also like to see the feature of the Connect 24 being used e.g. characters can be updated or added to the game via this meaning the game couald be expanded during the Wiis 5 (or more) year life time till the next Ninty console is released. The controlls will be another exciting feature with 4 different methods
- Wiimote
- Wiimote and nuchuck
- GC pad
- Classic controller
Now onto assist trophies as there is 3rd party characters how about 3rd party assist trophies??
Characters that NEED to return:
- Jigglypuff (obv ITS AWESOME!!!)
- Luigi (mario bro wouldnt be the same without him)
- Ice Climbers (Mallet-wielding climbers of ice =self expanetory)
- Ganondorf (him in TP style would look great! needs revised moveset tho)
- Captain Falcon (big part of ninty history)

Indeed, the list of possibly characters is truly alarmingly big...In my own opinion, they do need more evil characters and bad guys...Ganondorf has to make a return (With the beast form from TP as his Final Smash) and hopefully more bad guys...

Luigi kinda has to in it..Otherwise it wouldnt be Super Smash Brothers :/ XD
Jiggly would be a welcome return.
Ice climbers are the masters of disaster tbh....Having 2 people to control? twice as much fun
Captain Falcon will return. As Samurai Goroh had a "Falcon" as his item mark. Im guessing someone from F Zero is in, maybe the addition of the Black Bull as a fighter?

Most interesting factor for me (Going off the insignia's related to items and the game) is the fact that the Arena from Animal Crossing had an Acorn insignia...Which kinda leads onto being a character from that game...Who it is, we can only speculate....

With the news of 3 non Ninty chracters appearing, Snake being one, Sonic and then maybe someone from Namco would be in? INteresting to see the differences on people's opinion on that one....

Have they confirmed online play yet?

Also, they are going to have singleplayer modes, do you think they will have a co-op mode for that? I always find co-op fun, but you don't see enough of it.

As far as I know...The director of the game has confirmed online functionality...Whether that entales online matches or even online Co-Op i dont know....

I think Co Op in 1P mode could be a very big possibility...It would have to go to one charcters preffered story though. Presumably player 1's character. I suppose it would almost play as a Sonic game fomr then on..Other than the fact that the story is lost only when 1p is defeated. But 2p would loose lives and could be knocked out...Only you would need atleast twice as many enemies otherwise a decent pair (Ash and I for example) would rip through 1p pretty easily....

"Online functionality" that can be anything... patches to fully blown multiplayer...

Generally co-op has the AI ramped up a bit (more tactics) and a few more enemies. Either they just have different difficulty settings and the hardest one would be nigh on impossible alone, therefore a nice challenge for 2 players.

Exactly...."Online functionality"....It best be online matches....:D :D

And since when have there been tactics in SSB? U bash the crap into the closest enemy :P Even though matches like Event 51 and 50 require certain moves to be able to complete...I suppose tactics could be a factor....

This thread was a sticky? I didn't notice, lol.

Anyway, this game isn't Mario. It's a bunch of Nintendo characters (and more now) fighting it out on random stages, using attacks unique to them and some all power attacks (final smash). You also get items (pokeballs etc) which you can use to help you.

Yeah and? Most of the editing of this thread will be in the first post. I just thought seeing as the games section hasnt been used for such a long time that a new Sticky would be worth it...If people dont post this topic will sink, and seeing as Ash is a user now, it is the best place for me and him to talk about it without having threads sprawled all over the place....

Master Sword Beam Attack? You mean form like Links awakening? No..The closest we get to that is his Final Smash....He doesnt use his sword as a projectile firing weapon...

Its really not all that iconic...His sword never has had that ability in the console games, only the GBA games....And seeing as this Link is based on TP Link, it has a combat style more similar to that character...

Ah, you forget I've only played the GB games, and the Master sword always fires beams! I can guess why it''s not on consoles... aiming would be annoying (it's just a continuation of a standard swipe, after all).

The end of Twilight Princess essentially revolves around the Master Sword...Without it you cant turn into a human and wolf at will, and thus you are incapable of defeating a section of the final boss....

And yes, every single game he eventually uses the Master Sword...Though in Links Awakening he gets the "L2" Sword...which is the Master tbh....
