The file size perhaps? Unless video quality will be rubbish.

Well my guess will be they implement a Source engine demo type recording system, which means they need to be run in game. You can probably copy them onto SD card but not run them on computer, though Nintendo or some clever third part may release a computer viewer tool, though it would basically require the entire engine, so is probably illegal.

Your filesize point is moot, Si, as they will need to be stored on small amounts of flash memory and be able to send them to friends, making them small.

Mmm true...But I'm sure they could do it easily by recording in MPEG or something...Anything like that is freeware right? Only stuff they couldnt use would me like WMFs and the Apple version...:/ Its possible...

They could do that, but it would be a strain to encode it while playing and would be bigger filesizes.

STAGE BUILDER

This looks freaking awesome. The ability to create and design your own stages for multiplayer brawling. These can be saved to an SD card so sharing them is easy too.

Image

From the images it looks pretty complex to use, but I'm sure its pretty easy when u learn how to do it. From the pictures it looks like u can create almost anything you want from the items that you are allowed to use.

You can even test and submit your ideas to Nintendo for a once oin a lifetime Map download that disappears after one day!

SSBB Website wrote:
That’s right! You can use your Wi-Fi connection to send stages you’ve made to Nintendo! (However, you can’t submit repeatedly. Maybe just once per day?)

And a stage selected from the entire daily collection will be sent from Nintendo to your Wii. A stage made by someone else will come to you over the Internet once per day!

DUN DUN DUNNNNNN! That’s the shocking truth. This means you’ll be able to experience a new stage every day—the flavor of the day, if you will. However, the plan is for that stage to vanish once one day has passed. It’s a once-in-a-lifetime encounter.

Sounds pretty sweet! This game is just looking better and better. I already bagsee a stage that you can only get bashed off the top on ;)

Ah, that editor actually looks pretty simple. Tile based components, bit like the good old RA editor!

Certainly sounds fun to play with, could be interesting to make high challenge stages. The one a day thing sounds pretty good aswell, I'm sure you can probably save maps you like from it, aswell. Another interesting side effect will probably be unofficial download sites on the internet.

Ah yes! The return of CLASSIC MODE

You basically fight through 10-14 areas smashing the crap into the people who you come across. The first fight is usually Link:

Image

I guess these will get slightly harder as you go on. Just like on Melee and the Original.

This time though, you gain coins. You got coins in Melee for gambling and buying extra lives.

Image

However, this time it seems they may be used for a different purpose.

Glad Classic mode is back. Hopefully ALL STAR will be dropped for something much better suited.

Ah, I take it classic mode is simply a single player mode without story? More just beating stuff up for the sake of it? Sounds pretty good, probably a nice start for beginners aswell.

Also, I've just been reading the website, and noticed the pink button was submit... I can remember on an earlier announcement they blurred this button out, can anyone remember what it was?

It was on the Images update. Being able to take pictures, you can also submit these to wherever they go to :?

And yeah, its the primary mode for beginners. Whereas more experienced players may do Classic quickely first with one character (for a warm up in effect) and then do his/her story in The Subspace Emissary, some people who are new to it will do every character in Classic to see who suits their style of play. I'll probably be doing the former with the older characters, and the latter with the new characters. Classic mode usually takes less than half an hour (And on Melee, under 15 mins on Normal diffculty above, a fight with Giga Bowser can be unlocked), which is good for a quick play sort of thing.

I enjoyed doing speed runs on Melee immensly. Hopefully speed runs on Brawl will be just as ecxiting.

Hmm, sounds like there may be an image of the day thing or something similar, then. Or maybe user submitted piccies on a webpage.

Speed running is always fun.

If I do get SSBB I will probably do the latter of what you mentioned, to learn controls and the such.

Yeah best thing.

What i said in my previous post about Classic Mode and Giga Bowser, Im talking out my arse :P

What I meant to say was: "On Melee, If you do it really fast and dont die, you get to fight both Crazy and Master Hands on the Final Level". I was getting my modes mixed up.

Anyway Today:

The Summit
Its the Ice Climber Stage! This looks like a massive step up from the appaling Icicle Mountain from Melee. That map was actually banned from tournaments because of the way it was designed.

Image

Looks like you start at the top of a mountain. Then from the fighting, it all braks and you slide down the side of the mountain before ending up in the sea. Where a giant fish appears...Apparently this has been seen before. But I don't recognise it at all.

Image

Its not a Pokemon, and I dont think its from Mario....

There was only one Ice Climber game...:/ And there was no fish. I cannot think of a Nintendo game even comparable to it...A Digimon i know of looks vaguely like it O.o

Anyway, Missed yesterdays Update because i was galleventing around the countryside for Halloween, but it was a good update.

MetaKnights Final Smash: Galaxia Darkness

He uses his cape to cover over one character. If the cape misses, the Smash Ball is wasted. Accuracy is paramount with this FS.

Image

However, if you DO hit someone, the other players should watch out! MetaKnight launches a huge sword slice that smashes through opponents like butter. Anyone in his path will be KO'd.

Can Be merged Please :)

Today was Character Intros

Returning from the original SSB, the character intros are simply a nice way for everyone to appear on the stage. In the original, Mario and Luigi came out of pipes:

Image

Just like the above in Brawl. Fox jumped out of his Arwing, Link appeared in a mystic Triforce sheathe, DK exploded from a barrel, Pikachu and Jigglypuff from PokeBalls, Samus from a teleporter, Captain Falcon from his Blue Falcon, Kirby on a Warp Star, Yoshi from his traditional Green postted eggs and Ness came in from a porthole. I would of thought that many of the characters would be similar to their originals seeing as Mario's and Fox's are pretty much the same.

Snake using his Active Camo to appear on the stage.

I have no idea why the Character Intros were taken out for Melee. But they are nowhere to be seen. The characters seem to just appear on the platforms. Now we will go all oldschool with the Intros for the characters....

Hmm, MK's Final Smash looks to be one of the more powerful ones, but that is probably a tradeoff for actually being able to hit.

The character entrances look good, a nice touch, I think.

From the characters weve got...I can assume only a few...Other than most of the Veterans from the original. Veterans from Melee will need completely new ones. Seeing as Melee didn't have them. Zelda looks like the one with the most promise for an awesome intro move tbh...

And I would agree with MK's FS. The power it wields is certainly more than some people...But it will be incredibly difficult to hit with it...

Well, She's a veteran and we know literally NOTHING about her at the moment. She should have an awesome one becuase Link's is pretty good and she has the power of the Tri Force too.

After floating about on Youtube for a bit, I've seen Ike's Final Smash too, which looks sooooo awesome!

And the biggest find was this:

Spoiler for Vid Of Adventure Mode:

Watch this video on Youtube.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=s-PpYA6Ql1Y - If the vid doesnt load

Just about confirms a lot of stuff about the story, but also leads a hell of a lot of questions. God knows how this video was even found/made. But its too good to be fake...

Ah, so you're just interested to find out!

Hmm, that vid is interesting. It contains a lot of moments I recognise from the smashbros.com updates. My guess it is a early demo version used at conferences to show it off, somehow leaked.

But theyve never shown a Video or even given a playable demo of the Adventure mode yet. It seems impossible to see how it was gained...I'm pretty sure Sakurai would of fired whoever leaked this coz the main plot is extremely secret atm...We havent seen past say Lv 3 or 4? in the updates? This put down the Greap as a Boss and some other stuff too....

Well it looks like it could be a video for news sites or a playtest. I would guess the news sites got this and were told to only take pictures of X,Y and Z, but one of them leaked it.

True True...

Anyway, todays updates are pretty good.

A Fire Emblem Tune that was sung in Latin :? And a movie which scarily follows on from the Video above... Fox crash lands his ARWing near where Diddy Kong is searching for something. Then, bizzarely, a Rayquaza comes out of a lake and starts firing Hyper Beams at Fox's stricken ARWing. Fox leaps out and uses his Illusion to free Diddy Kong from Rayquaza's hand. Then uses his reflector to fire the Hyper Beam back at Rayquaza :?

Makes no sense...But oh well XD
