Sounds pretty cool. Let's hope they don't fail uberly like they did on 2142...

Let's hope that they fix the gameplay problems, like spawn killing, spammers, and balance. Rewarding better players with better stuff is a good idea to keep playing, but to newbies it could become irritating to run around with a pea shooter, getting plowed down by nuclear blasts from a handheld launcher of some sort...

To be honest the weapons are fine how they are, they all have advantages and disadvantages and that is generally how it should be. Like the shotgun, pretty pwns in one hit but sucks if you so much as more than 3 meters away... Same for heavy machine guns, their only good at about medium distance most of the time, they can work at long range if you spray all day and they don't see you..

Uber weapons would just be like all the grenade launcher and nade spamming retards...

2142 wasn't so bad for unlocks because you unlocks the abilty to increase what you have on you like adding a shotgun onto your assault rifle or gaining more grenades or for medics gaining the revive thing and more health increasy stuff.

I think that is the best way to do it, it is just a shame that the game was so <LOOK MA, I AM SWEARING> up it was unplayable..

It will be interesting to watch this one, the BF series has been going downhill a bit lately.

Generally the gameplay is awesome on no vehicle servers because it is fair. Most servers of 16 players I play on that way everyone gets 100+ points on BF2 unless they suck..

The unlocks on 2142 are a good way of doing it in my opinion because it won't make you super powered but still gives you 'veteran' adavantages.

The only real problem is general how unstable the game always is making it sometimes unplayable..

I am sure aaron will agree how much more pwnage BF2 demo is to the actual game because of that..

Hmm, no vehicles is an interesting option, but BF is a vehicle game, it feels wrong without...

The stability and speed issues, are, however, very major.

They already have no vehicles and its alot better better because you don't get retards in tanks all day that make themselves look amazing but in general they just don't fight not in one :/

So they get kills for being crap basically and with planes its worse cause you just get spam killed by them all day.

True, but the BF series was originally a vehicle heavy game, it's just part of the game. I guess if you prefer it without vehicles, that does work, but just shows that they screwed up a core part of the game TBH.

Only problem is with them is when your on big maps with lots of vehicles then its almost impossible to do anything against them unless your in one yourself.

To blow up a basic tank it takes like 20 granades which you can't even hold or 4 rockets. Fireing 4 rockets at a tank without being shot up is not easy.. The main cannong can pretty much kill you from the explosion radius so unless your on top of a building or something its hard to fire and not get killed.

The only other way is with C4. Running up to a tank and planting C4 onto is actually probably a bit easier if you hide and run out. But again you only really carry enough to blow up one tank :/

So in general unless you just die after like every kill or have millions or resupplys going then its a pain in the ass..

Very true indeed. The thing about BF is it's meant to promote teamwork, but it never does.

Some servers are awesome for teamwork, those are the smaller ones that can get you 100 - 200 score with ease.

The larger maps when there are alot of vehicles is when it goes downhill...

Which is usually when you need teamwork the most. I rarely ever see a vehicle that is actually full, it's usually just the driver who ran away with it immediately.

OMG!!! BF3!!! ARHGGGGG IM SOOOOO EXCITED, LETS MAKE ANOTHER CLAN ON IT!! ¬.¬ Well thats if its good, Is it based on the future again?? Becuze im not cool with it being simliar to 2142

Who has 2142 just wondering?

I Agree most defo, personally im squad leader on the BF most of time (not saying im a better leader than the mighty Skillers of cause) but to get a better game-play its best to be in a squad so i think its a very good game for teamwork on the whole.

I have 2142 but don't really play it. I basically gained a rank or two then got tired of it randomly turning itself off..

I believe BF3 will be like BF2 in setting.

As for a new clan, this isn't just a css clan, lol.

Yeah thats what it said in that rumour thing. Hopefully it will be more destructable enviroments.

I think fully would be kind of dumb but blowing the odd hole into walls or building would be awesome. Or running down walls with tanks =]

Would be lame if it was fully destructable... Cause by the end of the game you would have like a flat map unless it randomly regenerates which would be more stupid...

I think certain parts being destructible would be good, like deformations and the such. Perhaps have the scripted, but have enough different ones per thing to make it seem different.

Yeah, all you would want to do it knock down sniper posistions and drive tanks through the odd building.. Without tanks damaging themselves by hitting something.. In general a tank should get little more than a few stranges from shit like that. But on BF2 is was possible to blow yourself up..

I always thought it odd that you would have such powerful weapons but not be able to destroy any of the environment. The closest they got was random bits appearing out of nowhere, falling to the floor and vanishing. It would be good if you could, say, bomb a support and then the server tells everyone that deformation X is about to happen, then the building half collapses, same for everyone, but very little bandwidth and calculation need (compared to telling everyone where every little piece is going).

It was pretty lame but to be fare if they had all that back in BF2 it would have been about a million timees more unstable and it would have sucked to total hell.

Thats the only thing that worries me about BF3 I just hope EA can actually do a good job on a game that isn't the sims or a lame sports game...

It's actually DICE who make it, just EA push them so much it becomes rubbish, it happens with a lot of games. Crytek and Valve (for boxed editions) have publishing only deals with them, so EA have to do what they say and therefore they make good games.

Not quite my sentiment, they should stop taking over everything. They bought Westwood and started screwing up CnC (though CnC3 was alright, Generals just wasn't CnC). They keep buying developers and merging them in with the aim to release lots of games but not let them build a good game, it's stupid.

Fully destructible would be better. Why postpone future technology? Su-34 dropping 5 bombs in to the ground should not only make buildings obliterate, but make craters in the ground, too. The Battlefield series are meant to imitate real life warfare.. apart from replacement of blood with dust.
