Got this off Chimpmonkcheeks (from TSG) earlier;



It's quite clearly a phising attempt. It looks like Ojlemon has also been compromised, from the JarHedz thread.

Just a heads up to everyone to take care.

Why oh why do some peope have to do such bastartised things. I feel sorry for Chippy and Ojlemon, hopefully they will get everything sorted out.

Hopefully nobody here got fooled into it as well.

Before any doing anything, a big search needs to be done, I spent a while on the Steam Forums looking for info about people and this...

Well it's clearly a phishing attempt - similar url, use of .tk domain (free), and possibly similar layour (I got a 403, but login on the right sounds like Steam Community).

It did look similar, cos I had a visit and a nose...

Whats worse is when you enter details, it attempts to log into the REAL steam community webpage to test your login (I tried multiple incorrect things and found it was checking to tell for fakes )

Two other things that gave it away was the fact that the dropdown for the language gave nothing away, and also the full URL that it linked to: http://thesteelser.freehostia.com/lot/lot.html

Heh, looks like they might have been shut down with the 403 forbidden errors

Ah, crisis averted then, I feel sorry for Chippy though, he sent me the message yesterday as well.

Yeah, hopefully it is recoverable, though, by sending Steam some of the details used to buy games on the account.

That is very silly.. I have come across ones before where no matter what you input they still get your correct details.. So do not ever enter a single thing.. A good hacker/scammer will get you either way..

Wow, that must be good, getting details from a clean system (was fiddling with a virtual pc at the time)

I think it just depends if you logged into on that computer before after that no matter what you input it gets hold of it.. Dunno how but its a <FEMALE DOG>..

It probably uses cookies, so would do it if you'd logged into Steam before, but Si would be completely safe on the clean system.

Id assume so but its something people need to be careful of..

yeh, they tend to target ppl with new accounts, in case theyre quite young and are not really aware of not giving out password (although if u type real password it says ARE YOU SURE YOU WANT TO DO THIS? NEVER GIVE OUT YOUR PASSWORD)

The messages are there and I know people who have fallen for it -_- Including Tom Farr who is a complete smart ass annoying moron but doesnt understand how idiotic that is xD
