Hello!

Now that I have grabbed your attention with the title, I would like to introduce you to the new Wallpaper Competition that I am starting on Techious. 3 years ago I designed the Computers and Consoles wallpaper based on my idea, however that never actually went on the website, so didn't see light of day. However what I want to do is for us to have a wallpaper that identifies us as Techious, and preferably, looks cooler than the default crap on my system.

I have some rules for this competition that must be followed otherwise the entry cannot be accepted:

• It must have the Techious logo on there (optionally with the word Techious aswell).
• It must not contain any copyrighted images otherwise we can't use it.
• It must be in both a widescreen (16:10) and standard 4:3 resolutions.
• It must contain the Techious web address of http://www.techious.com
• It must not be pixelated at high end resolutions (specified below), or lose information on smaller ones.
• It must be in either JPG, PNG or default format for the application being used (such as Adobe Photoshop or The GIMP).

The resolutions it will be shown in will cover:

• 16:10
  • 2560x1600
  • 1920x1200
  • 1680x1050
  • 1440x900
  • 1280x800
• 4:3
  • 1600x1200
  • 1400x1050
  • 1280x960
  • 1024x768

To submit your entry.

• Send a copy of both the 16:10 and 4:3 design to [email protected].
  Please note that for these we would like a 2560x1600 size image for the 16:10 and a 1600x1200 one for the 4:3. We will scale them down. If you are unable to produce both, send us one and we will see what we can do.
• Post a small version of both to this thread.

Competition ends: Saturday 9th August 2008.
Winner gets: Design used as Techious Wallpaper!

I was wondering Skillers, can you post on here, or link to, a large version of the Techious logo. I know you and Wigouche say I have one, but I still can't find it!

They're all PNGs, so should be infinitely scalable. They might not be, though.

I think if you put put something like "Team Fortress 2 (c) Valve Corporation" at the bottom, we should be alright.

I used Paint.NET. I find it easier to understand.

Yes, I gave Pete the original vector image of the logo (block red, like my avatar name) and he snazzified it.

I'd do one but

A) I dont under the sizes cz im stupid

B) I'm useless at creating things

A) The sizes are in pixels, width by height. Aslong as one is done in 2560x1600 and 1600x1200, the rest don't matter (it can be downsized from those).

B) You're not.

i assume the copyright laws rule out a quick trip to Google images.
i might submit one, but i think i'll buy a Tablet first or it will look shit

Uploading a large image might be a problem, just upload a small one and we can use that to judge, and acquire the big versions through email or something.

The logo is vector art made by me, with the effects by Wigo. You can get the source files in a post earlier in this thread.

just a not if u read the original post all actural entrys should be sent in by email 2 [email protected] in 4:3 and wide screen highest resolution

my monitor is all messed up so i have no idea how this looks to you, tis fairly cool on mine.
i like girly colors, but can easily change em if you like...

Very nice! I'm a big fan of electric sparky things, lol.

As Wigo says if you could change it to more red and black (and maybe hints of blue), it would fit the clan much better.

doesn't look as good on my m8's monitor, so i may withdraw it.
