I'd probably write a fair few articles, though, and would certainly make use of it a lot. Anyone I feel could contribute to this site would be able to contribute, too, so you could probably write articles, Aaron (without image checker/a much less annoying checker).

I'd be happy to write articles on pretty much anything, as well as reviews. However, I do prefer to be directed on what sort of things people want me to write about.

All mods would automatically get ability to write articles. Others will get it based on merits or we may have an "anybody can write, but it is moderated" system.

As for writing reviews and articles, I think it's a good idea to review something you want to. However, I could give direction if necessary.

Yes, direction would be good, although currently I'm writing a review on teh Chzu mythology (or trying to anyway).

More responsibility is a big thing aswell... But then again, more people are required to make it more responsibilised? XD And i kinda want to take Techious into Console gaming... But I dont think it will work very well in the short term... Id have to really work at it, and at the current time I simply dont have the time...

Well I'm welcome for multiplatform, just most the current members pretty much play exclusively or mostly on PC, and noone is interested in console expansion.

as for responsibility, there is not much responsibility needed here, except for of the personal posts. I prefer not to dish out admin powers as there is not that needs doing with admin, and I like to know what's going on there. As for mods, out mods:users ratio is still high, and there's not much that really needs modding.

I may push for traffic in the summer, but I really don;t know how to get people to stay. I think regular articles may be a draw.

I just said I wanted to do it... By "no one" you mean yourself. I am pretty interested in it... Its just a shame I won't have time to work on it until late June. I could probably get about 8 or 9 people to join... But it would probably be fore 360 games rather than Wii games. I guess we could have an SSBB clan section too, headed by Ash or me... Most of us will actually get that because most of us have Wii's... That would generally be a catalyst for me to push into console gaming on a clan level.

Nitpicking every generalisation. I meant that noone (except you) has expressed explicit interest in expanding to a set of console games. I'm perfectly willing to add consoles to the list of clan games, just virtually noone is interested in that avenue atm. If you can get members for a console group, go ahead.

i personally would not like this clan to expand at this moment in time. Its not like we are a huge clan and not like we have unlimited time available, 99% of clan members play PC games regularly only, so it seems pointless to try and entice those people away. The only way to expand to consoles would be to get new members for TCHS off xbox live etc. that play consoles exclusively.

please note this is coming from an owner of a 360 and wii. PC is much easier to arrange and use i feel, jst a personal opinion.

also, on the concept of writing articles on games, i dnt think this would be v succesful right now, many other websites will be looked at first, and ppls views tend to be extrodinarilly biased (i am shocked to hear members commenting some games are going to be the best ever when they havent even been released!!!!! this means reviews they write on this game will, eventually be blinded and flawed.)

Well anyway, I said particularly interested, or something to that effect. Basically noone seems bothered, but some wouldn't mind...

Well it will be for articles, guides, reviews etc, and information on the clan and such. Maybe stuff about peoples gaming experiences, like a gaming blog. Mostly, I think clan information is most important, then guides and articles (can be reviews, but not necessarily, and I agree with the biased point). I think I'll let the users decide what they want to read and write, see where it goes.

I'm sorry for butting in chaps, but as a forum member and a regular visitor (even though it's not my home forum) i've been following this topic within the various posts etc. What seems to be missing is a general comprehension of what the forums should be for, which is simple really .......... it should be the hub for the Techious Clan!

Any communications should be done through the forums, whether it be to inform other members of something, or to gain imput from it's members or community. Clan decisions and initiatives are detailed, as well as general banter sruff such as jokes, reviews etc.

Members should be as active on the forums as possible, and contribute in a posotive manner and help drive the Clan forward. Whinging/moaning and generally being negative should be kept for a private forum, so as not to deter potential new members as there's nothing worse than visiting a forum where the perception is that all the members do is bicker.

As stated, the forums shoudl be the hub of activity and not something people decide to visit now and again. Infact, at [-TSG-] we stipulate in the Clan Rules that all members need to be active on the forums as well as the servers. "Active" is defined by a minimum of 2 hours play on the servers and a minimum of 2 posts on the forums, every fortnightly period. If members don't fulfill this criteria, then their member access is revoked.

By adopting this approach we ensure as a Clan, we give the future success of the Clan and the community it belongs to, every possibility of success for the future. Which is probably why jarHedz has now been around for some 8 years, Radox it's resident DoD Clan has been existing for a similar period of time and it's latest Clan [-TSG-], also enjoying success.

Thanks for the input, Zosk. There is a bit of confusion, but this site didn't originally start from the clan, but the other way round (we've been round 4 years, with only 1 year of clan). I believe the clan is an important part of the site, but not the only, personal.

I do want the clan members to be more active here, but it's quite a hard challenge, as we're not that appealing as a clan. We're not very big and competitive, and only have 1 server, which is private. We're trying to expand, but it's hard. Kicking members would make the clan less appealing by being smaller. I try to recruit only people who will be active.


I'm trying to keep this a friendly place, but it can be pretty hard...

My opinion on everything:

We should just be clan, the old C&C days of us sucked, we really don't want that... kinda boring IMO. Also with the new site, all forums should be reset to nil posts, to try and tidy stuff up and keep everything all nice and friendly.

sections such as black flash and warhammer should be removed for starters....
