Dont no whether to put this under sport or here, so im putting it here.

Basically, most of the F1 teams have found lop holes in the rules concerning wings. Now, the rule they are exploiting reads:

[quote:e0f4e5fdde="FIA"]
No part of an aerodynamic device is allowed to move at speed[/quote:e0f4e5fdde]

This rule basically stops moveable aerodynamic devices for more pseed etc. Now, to make sure the teams comply with this, the FIA do weight tests on the front and rear wing to detect flex. However, they only test with a 10Kilo weight. At 150+mph, more than 30Kg of air pressure is pushing on the wings. The Flexi wings close the mandatory "Slot-Gap" in the rear wing of the car, meaning less drag and more speed. the wing returns to normal under braking because there is less load on the wing.

Most of the teams are now exploiting this (after Ferrari initially had a Flexi wing in malaysia) because the rules arent strict enough.

Ferrari wants the rule to be removed and let flexi wings be allowed. The other teams do not. They do not think it is in the spirit of the sport. The concerned rule has been in place since 1968, where wings wold fold flat under load and use springs to be pulled back up when the cars slowed down. This gave more downforce.

Just wondering what u guys think? Should they be allowed to be developed or not?

that rule is stupidly written, you could take that as 'Not allowed to be aerodynamically designed' as it moves as speed as its attached to the damn F1 car

as for whether they should be developed, im not sure.

Anyway, it should technically be under both sport and here but as youve put it in one place, its good, but as a mod you could move it to the sport forum and leave a link so it shows in both forums.
