All the protests (the violent ones) have done is make people go "oh all students are needlessly violent for no reason. All students are bad"

In other news, a student who agreed with the result of the vote yesterday was on BBC Breakfast this morning explaining why the decision is a good one. I'm expecting him to have to leave the building carefully...

The violent protesting is getting ridiculous. Vandalising public property, breaking and entering (including the treasury) and attack a car containing Royals. Yep, definitely going to make people sympathetic to your cause of wanting free stuff by causing many thousands of pounds worth of damage and endangering lives.

If When the tuition fees rise in 2012 will it only apply to 1st year students, or to 2nd, 3rd and 4th years as well? I Have no idea on this and I don't know anybody else who knows anything about it either.

you know, i was *kind of* sympathetic to these guys, but with this behaviour i actually don't want to see them in uni... i don't think we want to have stupid retards that start smashing stuff the moment things don't go the way the want in positions of power someday.

Blame the media for reporting all the violence in the first place. Giving publicity to it only encourages more. Vast majority of students there (if students at all) were peaceful.

Or well, really I don't actually care either way lol. FUCK DA POLICE.

PEACE

lmao. well i'm sure most of them are peaceful and thats fine. but there is really no need for any violence, in newcastle i watched about 500 people breaking into a building by smashing the glass and just waltzing in

Gozzer, it will only apply to people going into Uni. Once you have agreed to the terms, they can't change them on you. The only rise that will happen for existing students is the regular inflation based rise.

Happened to my sister, think she got in a year before they raised the fees (1.4K -> 3K) and only had to pay the 1.4K for her entire time.
