This one is from an old post, StarBucks reckoned that Lemmings still used the same installer as the old ione even though it is now installing an emulator with the game, i reckon that he is wrong, and he is.

Let's establish one thing: does the Sold Out re-release edition of the game run on XP?

No, it doesn't.

Con, you got the debate wrong, we were saying it don't run on XP and it would need an emulutor to run, and he was asking why can't they put an emulator in it.

I think the purpose of the Sold Out software is to bring back applications for those who have crud PC's. I don't think they re-released the software with intention for it to run on modern machines.

It could do. If Sold Out managed to publish its own DOS emulator, it could thoerectically install both at once. If the first, say, 50% was emulator and then the rst was the game it could possibly install with th same loading bar.

Yes, they could, but they don't, because they don't want to waste time on it, they just want to make easy money.

Nope, the origional argument was why don't they. Of course it can be done, but it's hard and not worth their money (the installer would have to be more complex, and emulators are hard to use).

I never said it couldn't be done. I said they don't do it for business reasons.

Connectyed said it couldnt happen. My scanner does that on the install. It does loads of programmes.

You scanner does what on the install? Check for windows version?

There is no real point in them adding emulators, all they do is take the old code and dump it on a disk. They don't change it at all. It's just to make some extra cash.
