Today, Russia announced that they have tested a new ICBM {Inter-continental Ballistic missle}
I fear I don't know much other than they are trying to show American that they are more important as they also made it clear of the range of these missles...which Washington D.C is well within.

I'd swear they already had ICBMs, must be a new, improved version.

The thing is, with all the detection kit available, it's impossible to launch a missile without being spotted, which leads to retaliation, Plus, I believe it is possible to intercept missiles, though don't quote me on that.

i'm quite sure they can be intercepted. the 'Patriot' from the late 60's was proven effective for destroying enemy missiles that work similarly to an ICBM, is has since been upgraded.

in the event of a ICBM being launched with the new one developed, the US would only know 30 mins before hand.

I don't think they would launch it either, the entire world [almost] would be VERY angry and probably just Nuke then off the face of the earth, which would be bad for everyone

its pos 2 intercept but more likly a diplomatic dicution would take place and the missile would b aborted in flight, as nether side acturly want a nukclier war as takes quite a while 4 the missile flights , the us would prity much know as soon as its launched as im prity ure the both still whatch eachother more than there sposed to as the cold war hasnt even completly ended just its v much a small background thing now not gna start a war, chances are the test would have been anounced b4 launch otherwise it would have caused problems

While it's nice to think that a missile from either side would be aborted thanks to diplomacy, I am of the opinion that if the missiles have been fired, it's gone well beyond the limits of negotiation.

not necesarilly, if both sides are being unreasonable a ICBM would force a negotiation.

the missile have always been used as a deterents 4 hostil activity nether side could live with the world wide implucations of acturly destroying entire citys just like that cause thyl get it right back so there all there as diplomatic leaverage rather than a wepon
