It is the true story about the resistance man Max Manus (1914-1996), soldier in the Company Linge in the free Norwegian forces in England and later saboteur in Norway during the war, 1940-45.

In the film we meet Max the first time at the Winter War in Finland in 1940 where he fought as a volunteer against the Russians. When the cease-fire was signed in March, all the volunteers were sent home and Max arrived in time to see the Germans march into the city 9 April (Oslo, the capital).

Max soon became a leader in the resistance movement. Together with his friends Kolbein Lauring, Gregers Gram, and Gunnar Sønsteby they stood behind Norway's first illegal newspaper.

its based on facts might be why i like it

it's one of the best norwegians movie I've seen tbh. For once a good one. Norway been making mostly horror movies lately like: Fritt vilt 1 and 2, villmark, rovdyr etc.. Max Manus is definatly worth seeing. Aksel Hennie is a quite good actor!
