As we all know, the current "Tallest Building in the world" is Taipei 101 in Taiwan at 508m.

However, the Burj Dubai is the tallest free standing structure at the moment at a huge 706m, after out heighting the CN Tower in Toronto as the worlds tallest free standing structure.





But then Skillers told me of this behemoth...

Don't forget Dubai are also planning a absolutely massive bridge (and some weird opera house.

But yeah, that vertical city is insane. Add to the fact it looks like it's going to be completely sel suficient with renewable energy just adds to it's incredibleness.

Oh, and one interesting thing I found out a minute ago - The Empire State Building has more floors (102) than Taipei 101 (101), but Taipei 101 is 30% taller, lol.

I must agree with the looks comment, the American ones are impressive but dull.

I wonder why CN Tower isn't included in that chart.

It's not a building, it's a structure/tower (the definition being that most of it us just solid concrete, whereas a building is mostly habitable.

It's habitable at the top.

The CN Tower? It does have a little bulbous thing near the top, but it's not very big, and there's still a huge way to the actual top. Anyway, the fact is, most o the building is just concrete, not habitable.
