To cut a long story short, I had a Rubix cube, which I got for Christmas a while back. Not an 'official' one, it was a cheap budget one. It has broken apart several times before, but has been fixable. This time, it is not. The stickers were peeling as well and it jammed on every attempt to move it. I got more frustrated trying to get past the flaws in the cube than actually getting frustrated about the puzzle itself.

However, I was looking into replacements, and it seems that the 'official' Rubix cubes are just as bad.

There are other companies that do cubes under different names.

There is EastSheen, Mefferts, and v-cube. However I can't for the life of me find much information on them, or where to buy 3x3x3 cubes. I wondered if anyone else would have more luck in digging up information. They are not called Rubix cubes. They have different names.

Proper Rubix's cubes work well. I've got an original that works fine.

Lubrication with Petroleum jelly + Spray paint the squares with the colours is my advise unless you wish to purchase one that has both of these features.

Yeah, it's the original Rubix ones that are the good ones apparently. The ones currently produced supposedly fail.
