Lets start off with an easy one. Do you use ad blockers when you surf the web and why/why not?

Because in my experience having Ad Blockers on messes up the display of most websites that rely on adverts. Also, you're basically stealing money from the website, which may be used to keep it running.

Good idea!

I'm too lazy to install one xD. I used one for a very short period of time and it increased the loading speed of some sites....but not significantly so now I don't bother.

LIFE STORY OKOK :D:D

I've blocked ads ever since I've been bothered by ads that played sounds, blocked the entire screen or made the screen grey out until I clicked certain things. After that it was war.

I do understand though that ad revenue is important to smaller sites in order to keep them going.

Yes, but I whitelist sites I regularly read and don't use the ads Metty described (or those annoying in text hover link things). I would suggest anyone who uses adblock does the same, support the sites you visit. Never had any issue with layout, though, but I did have to whitelist Google to get on adsense.

One thing I dislike is that the Chrome version of adblock doesn't work on videos. Hate having to watch a 30 second trailer to watch a 30 second trailer. I once had a couple of trailers linked on GameTrailes at the same time which both required me to watch the same 30 second advert for a game on a platform I don't even own. I don't mind the adverts on 4od, cos that's 1 minute of advert for 40minute of video, but 1:1 ad:content is stupid.

that happened to me the other day Mark. I was watching a LAN on a stream and everytime I opened the stream it made me watch the same 30 second advert (house bleach I mean seriously). After 3 days it was driving me insane!!!

(off topic but ya know)

Don't at the moment. Dislike the adds but can't be bothered to install an adblocker.

i like the steam/ad setup that sc2 players use. they run advert themselves at times they chose, i.e while they are searching for a game and nothing else is happening. the preemptive ads in the worst of possible times are really annoying however ><

Ad blockers seem to cause a lot of issues with many popular websites. Also: I don't mind ads.
