This is where I'm going to post the names (and possibly other things) of future and current maps.

I have plans for all of these, they are not just random. ;)

de_dust_tchs
cs_castle_tchs
cp_superlaser_tchs
ctf_hive_tchs
de_pyramid_tchs
pl_mtdoom_tchs

These should be fun to make over the holidays after the exams are over. :)

There isn't really a naming convention, but I personally prefer Si's. And remember to to stick some form of version number on the end to make it easier to download.

Unlike my previous version of mixer where everybody would get kicked off because of an incorrect version number ;) until I got my act together and started naming it properly... 3b4, 3b5, etc.

Si, I have been naming them _tchs to conform to the norm (eg, de_dust2_unlimited).

Naming them like de_tchs_dust2 implies (however not true) that the map is called tchs but on a dust2 varient. It's been done the other way (de_dust2_unlimited, etc) for years, and this seems to date back to the days of mapping with the original cs (dust2_unlimited was originally a cs map it seems).

Anyway, that's how I see it. I could be wrong, but it's easier for me to understand.

You say that, but the maps aren't variants of other maps. For example, your dust map is not a variant of the original, but a new map, and calling it dust_tchs implies it's a variant by your logic. Remember that not every bit before/after the _ has to mean something, _ can just be used as a space in the name, so "de_tchs_dust_3" would be the 3rd version of destruction map called "tchs dust".

And I'd swear superlaser was a cs_ the other day...

I keep the tchs the simple reason of there might be a map by that name that I do not know about.

I was not aware of a cs_superlaser, but I doubt it's anything like my idea. :P
